CHRISTMAS

Well, Christmas was great.  I was just a little confused about it last year, but this year I think I have about got it figured out.  For some reason both years, Mommy and Daddy sat me down on this guys lap named “Santa”.  I wasn’t really comfortable with him, but pictures were taken and he didn’t bother me, so maybe next year I will be better about sitting on his lap.  I’m not really sure yet why I have to sit on his lap, but it somehow seems to be part of this whole Christmas thing.

About a week before Christmas, Papaw Joe and Mamma Deb brought some gifts over for me and Matthew for Christmas.

On Christmas morning, Daddy and I went down to Fairborn to pick up Matthew.  When we got back, there were a whole bunch of presents in the living room around our Christmas tree (another thing that has to do with this time of year, though I don’t really know why).  We both opened our gifts, and got lots of cool presents, I got a recliner (you will see me lounging in it in a picture below) and Matthew got an Xbox 360.  We also got lots of other cool things.  Some of my favorites were cars.  I got lots of cars, and have been having a blast playing with them.

After we opened our gifts, we head to Mamma Diane’s and Papaw Bruce’s for Christmas and got more gifts and a meal.  By this time I was getting really good at opening them.  After that we went to Mamma Loretta’s and Papaw Wilbur’s for more gifts and food.

I have decided that Christmas is a pretty cool time of year.

MY 2ND BIRTHDAY

On Sunday, January 3rd, a big event occurred.  Yours truly (me) turned two years old.  This was also a fabulous day, just like Christmas…except that I was the only one receiving gifts.  That was pretty awesome, and it made me feel very special.  Papaw Joe and Mamma Deb had my birthday party at their house.  We had pizza, an awesome “Cars” birthday cake, and lots of fun playing with my new toys.  Kristin and Paige showed me how to play with the toys, and Mommy gave me a great big huggy and kissy when 1:47 PM came (she says this is the time I was born).  I really want to thank everyone for coming to my party, and for all the cool gifts I got.  Daddy is working on my birthday video…hopefully it will be posted soon.

MY TWO-YEAR DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT

Thursday night I started getting really sick.  Mommy and Daddy laid me down for a nap around 4:00 PM because I was really tired and wanted to go night-night.  At 6:30 PM, I woke up and got sick all over in my crib.  Daddy came to rescue me and put me in the bathtub while Mommy got to work at cleaning my sheets and stuff up.  Problem is, I just kept getting sick over and over again.  Mommy says she lost count after about seven times.  She was glad I had a doctor’s appointment the next day, so that the doctor could check me out and give me some medicine if I needed it.  After finally going to sleep Thursday night, I slept until 10:30 the next morning when Mommy came in to check on me and was feeling my head.  By the time my doctor’s appointment came that afternoon, I was feeling pretty good but still wasn’t eating anything.  The doctor said that I either had a case of food poisoning, or had a virus.  Either way, that was the last I saw of those sickies.  Mommy says I have been pretty lucky.  It has been a long time since I have gotten sick.

I didn’t have to get any shots!  The doctor said I am good until kindergarten…which to me seems so far away.  Although, Mommy swears she is going to wake up tomorrow and have to take me there.  She says she will miss me.  Anyhow, here are the facts from my doctor’s appointment.

I am exactly 36 inches tall and am the 90th percentile for my age

I am 31.5 Lbs and in the 86th percentile for my age

So, I think I am going to be a tall guy just like my daddy.  I’m glad, because Mommy is a shorty.  As my Auntie Chelsea always says…I will probably be taller than her by the time I am six years old.

Well, gotta go run and play!

Later!

Love,

Jonathan

Trick-Or-Treat!!

General, Mom No Comments

I just have to tell you all about one of my new favorite things to do!!!  It’s so amazingly fun, and you get free candy doing it!  Are you ready?  It’s called “Trick-Or-Treat!”

Mommy, Daddy, Grammy Diane, Auntie Chelsea, and Cousin Trenten all introduced me to this wonderful event a little over a week ago.  It’s the best thing ever, and I think I am going to do it many times a year.  Maybe I will make a monthly event out of it…who knows, weekly would be good too!  All you have to do is dress up in disguise (my disguise was Charlie Brown), ring a doorbell, hold up your basket and say “Trick-Or-Treat” (Mommy and Daddy did that for me), and get this…the people put something in your basket.  I got lots of neat things…something called chocolate is my favorite, especially this thing called Reese Cups.  I also got suckers, Twizzlers, and many other goodies, including a Halloween pencil.

Anyhow, if you haven’t tried it you need to get out there and do it.  Below you will see pictures of me showing you how it’s done.

First, you get all dressed up…

It was so much fun, and many people loved my little Snoopy carrier.  If you have a Grammy as cool as mine is, she will make you one if you need it.  If not, I will see if mine will make one for you.  In fact, she’s so cool that she got my Charlie Brown shirt and Snoopy dog too! :)

I didn’t get to go Trick-Or-Treating with Matt because he wasn’t around for our Trick-Or-Treat night, but that weekend Daddy and Matt went to VanWert and had lots of fun.  I’m kind of glad I didn’t go though…Matt was pretty scary in his disguise.  Take a look!

Well, that’s my update for now.  I think I’m gonna go and sneak into my basket.  All this blogging made me hungry!

Love ya!

I’m Still Here!

Hey!!!!  I bet you all thought I ran away! :)   Believe me, if I could figure out how to turn the knobs on those doors I would definitely be out and about enjoying the outdoors.  If I could, I would always come back if I were able to find my way.  I count on Mommy and Daddy for too much.  I have got the knobs on the bath tub and the handles on screen doors figured out so I am sure I will have the doors figured out in no time!  Hopefully Mommy and Daddy don’t find another fix to ruin that plan before I get to that point.  They are so good at that sometimes!  Here’s a good example.  Between our living room and kitchen there is a phone cubby…a hole big enough for me to get my entire body through, and I would do just that.  I would get up onto the couch in the living room, put my head and torso through that hole, lay on my tummy in that hole and mess with the light switches in the kitchen. Mommy and Daddy yelled, and yelled…even slapped my hands multiple times hoping I would stop, but I am stubborn so I of course didn’t listen.  One morning I woke up and couldn’t do it anymore.  Daddy had put up a dowel in the hole so I can no longer have my fun at being a little rebel. I got up that morning and yanked and yanked on that bar but it wouldn’t budge.  Why do Mommy and Daddy always have to ruin my fun?

Needless to say, I have been busy.  Busy playing, running, climbing, skinning up my knees, bruising up my head, throwing tantrums, and occasionally driving Mommy and Daddy crazy.  I am going through a phase where I will sometimes laugh when I am being told “No” and this can really drive people crazy at times.  But, I have also noticed that sometimes it is hard for them not to laugh too, which I am sure is the reason why I do it.  Our living room is quite funny looking actually…there are a lot of empty tables but when you look at the top of the entertainment center that goes almost up to the ceiling, you will see a lot of things Mommy put up there to keep out of my reach.  A lot of items have found new homes since I started being able to get to things.  I also like to act like I am going to touch something after I am told not to…hehe, I think that is so fun but sometimes Mommy and Daddy don’t think it is.  Certain things are just irresistible to me…what can I say?  And, the more electronic it is, the more it appeals to me…especially cell phones, computers, mouses, and remote controls.  Something that is also appealing to me is stuff I can spill all over myself and the floor including soft drinks, coffee, and water.  I am 19 months old today, so I am getting pretty good about waiting until Mommy, Daddy, Grammy Diane, and Auntie Chelsea aren’t watching before attempting to grab onto the things I shouldn’t.  I always know if they forget to take something out of the room with them when they go, and I am really good about getting a hold of it when they do.

Mommy says that pretty soon I will start the potty training process.  There is already a potty sitting in my nursery waiting to be taken out of the box.  Mommy and Daddy are going to set it out soon to get me used to the idea of sitting on it and go from there.  I’m in no hurry really…why do the work when someone else will do it for me?  Then again, I do like to do things all by myself so we’ll see.  Mommy loves it when I help her rub the lotion on my legs after my baths and I have to say it’s easy to do.  I don’t help long though before I have my face down on my legs licking off all the lotion.  I can’t help it….it tastes yummy! :)

I am a guy that likes to keep people guessing, and I do have fun with it.  When someone asks me for a kiss I will either give them a kiss, turn my head away, lean in so they can kiss my forehead, or make a game out of it and turn away and laugh.  Same with saying Bye Bye.  I am perfectly capable and able to do it and sometimes do say it, but most of the time I either don’t or wait until the person has already left to say it.  Fun!!!  You never know what to expect from me, but when a doggy or kitty is around…they always get a kissy from Jonny.  I can’t resist their sweet little furry faces and have a big weakness for soft things. Below is a picture of me loving up on one of my grammy’s cats, Annie.

Mommy, Daddy, Matthew and I had a nice vacation down in Cincinnati.  We visited the Columbus Zoo and Newport Aquarium.  It was a lot of fun but I got wore out easily at the zoo, and was asleep for most of the Newport Aquarium.  What can I say…this little man needs his naps and we were just to busy for them those two days.  I did really like the rhinoceros though…He was pretty cool, and was in a great big pool which I also liked.  I wish Mommy and Daddy would let me sit in a big pool of water as long as I wanted to.  I would never get out, and mommy can’t say that I would grow fins either because the rhinoceros didn’t have fins.  Anyhow, below are some pictures of me and Matty on our little trip…

Boomer Day was fun too!  We went to the school and watched all kinds of loud boomers in the sky with my Cousins Kristin and Paige, Aunt Tami and Uncle Dave, and Grandpa Rank.  It was really neat!  Paige kept yelling out all the colors of the boomers making everyone laugh (it was pretty darn cute), and I just pointed at them and talked in my own language.

I haven’t seen my brother Matthew in quite some time and it is making me a little sad, but I get to see him on Friday. He has been spending a good long time down in Kentucky.  Mommy still shows me videos of Matty playing with me, but I am starting to wonder if I will get to see him again.  I wonder if I did something bad to make him not want to come around?  I look up to my big brother so much and I just glow whenever I get to spend time with him.  I know Daddy and Mommy miss him too.  I can tell Daddy gets sad when he talks about it, so I don’t bring it up too much.  Matty has been sending us pictures of himself and even sent Daddy a card, so I know that makes him feel a little better.  It makes me feel better too.  Below is a video of me kissing the pictures he last sent us.  We get to see Matty every weekend for a month starting on Friday, and that’s been a big help in coping with him being gone for awhile!

In most recent news, I got a new kitty!  She is so cute and even plays with me!  I need to learn to be a little nicer sometimes, but I am always giving her kisses to try and make up for the times I forget how to treat a tiny little cute kitty.  She is very patient and forgiving though, so I know we will always be very close.  Anyhow, her name is Sasha (I wanted to name her “Hi Kitty” but Sasha is a good name too).  Below are some pictures of her as well!

I know this was a long post, but I had a lot of information to get out there.  I’m sorry I took so long to write and am hoping you will think of my cute little face and forgive me instantly. :)

Love ya!
Jonny
